Sound Works adds to Video Capabilities with ATEM 2

Frankfort, IL – Sound Works Productions added to it’s arsenal of video and presentation capabilities with a Black Magic ATEM 2 M/E Production 4K switcher.  After utilizing a wide variety of video switchers for its Conference Technology Solutions events, the company extensively reviewed the options available and chose the ATEM 2 for its flexibility and future-proof I/O.

“The video production market is saturated with legacy technology,” says Sam Boren, VP, Business Development, “and the rest of world is moving forward.  The decision to bring an ATEM system followed our company philosophy – we master the most cutting edge technology to meet the evolving needs of our clients.”

The ATEM 2 features 4K compatibility, up to 20 inputs and media bank, dual program and multiple auxiliary outputs, multi layer upstream and downstream keyers, creative and custom transitions and video effects, and SuperSource technology which allows multiple inputs to be displayed in custom arrangements on a single display. The switcher can even be connected to a WiFi network and controlled with an iPad.

“When we pair this switcher with our inventory of scan converters and scalers we get an extremely flexible system. We’re able to accept any video format, upscale to the best possible resolution, and send it any type of projector or display. Utilizing SDI cabling allows us to send the signal up to 300′ – significantly farther than HDMI.” says Eric Lindholm, CEO, who has been the leading the effort to bolster the companies video capabilities.

To round out the system, Sound Works has also added an Apple MacBook Pro 15″ with Retina Display to it’s rental inventory.  The new high performance computer will allow for control of the switcher and the input scan converters, in addition to being a flexible content player for videos, slide shows and other media.
